About Bideford Music Club

Bideford Music Club brings high-quality classical chamber music to the area to enrich the lives of all those across our community, inspire children in local schools, and provide a platform for rising young artists.

Established in 1957, the Club, a registered charity, celebrates its 70th anniversary with another fabulous programme of six monthly concerts (see Concert Diary) over the winter period and three visits to local schools to give 700 children the opportunity to hear highly creative classical musicians.

Concerts are held in St Mary’s Parish Church, Church Walk, Bideford, EX39 2BP.

Concerts begin at 7.30 pm on Wednesdays and at 3 pm on Sundays.

Doors open 30 minutes before each concert.

The aim of the club is to produce classical music concerts of the highest possible professional standard, with a particular focus on rising young artists.  The Countess of Munster Musical Trust, Making Music (supported by the Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artists awards), the Tillett Trust and the Young Classical Artists Trust are among the organisations whose selected musicians we try to engage each season to bring you the stars of the future.

Each year some of our musicians visit local schools to play and talk about their instruments and their music.  This outreach work is funded by generous grants from Northam and Bideford Town Councils and the Bideford Bridge Trust.
